FIX: Zetafax 2007 Printer embedded commands do not function with Crystal Reports 8.5 and earlier
Print
ZTN1614
ID: ZTN1614
This Zetafax technical note applies to:
- Zetafax Version 2007 and later
- Crystal Reports 8.5 and earlier
Symptom
The Zetafax 2007 Addressing dialog is not populated with the fax address after the printing a Crystal Report that contains embedded commands.
Cause
Printing a report from a Crystal Reports application does not interpret embedded commands properly. In Zetafax Version 10 SP1 and later, the Zetafax print manager recognises when a user prints from a Crystal Reports application and automatically applies an offset value for interpreting text. This value is only required for Crystal Reports version 9 and later.
Resolution
Apply the hotfix: ZTN1614 Hotfix
Browse to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Equisys\ZETAFAX registry key. Add a DWORD value named ‘CrystalDetectDisable' to this key, and set the value data to 1.
WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Equisys cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved.
For information about how to edit the registry, view the " Changing Keys and Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE) or the " Add and Delete Information in the Registry" and " Edit Registry Data" Help topics in REGEDT32.EXE. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT or Windows 2000, you should also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD).
Status
This behaviour was corrected in the above mentioned hotfix.
