FIX: Zetafax client does not accept 2<sup>nd</sup> or 3rd printed document in Windows 98se Print ZTN1494 ID: ZTN1494 This Zetafax technical note applies to: Zetafax 9 and Windows 98se Symptom If you create and print a document to the Zetafax printer it will work fine. Without shutting down the Zetafax client, create a second document, print that to the Zetafax printer and it will fail to present you with the addressing dialog box. Cause This is caused by a fault in the printer controller. Resolution To resolve this issue you need to download and install an updated Zetafax client and print controller program. You can download this update from here: ftp://ftp.equisys.com/pub/Zetafax9.1/Updates/ZETAFAX91380.exe To apply this update please work through the following steps on affected Windows 98 systems: Download the update and extract the files to a temporary folder. Ensure that the Zetafax Client is not running. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the Zetafax Client installation directory, the default path is C:\Program Files\Zetafax. Rename ZETAFAX.EXE to ZETAFAX.OLD and copy the downloaded ZETAFAX.EXE to this folder. Now browse to the C:\Windows\System folder, locate the ZFPRNTCTL.EXE file and rename it to ZFPRNTCTL.old. Copy the downloaded ZFPRNTCTL.EXE to this folder. Right click on ZFPRNTCTL.EXE and check the files version, it needs to be 9.1.361. Close Windows Explorer and start the Zetafax Client. Select 'About' from the 'Help' menu. Check that the version shows as 9.1.380; this will confirm that the file is successfully installed.
