FIX: Zetafax connector may cause the Exchange information store to stop
Print
ZTN1106
ID: ZTN1106
This Zetafax technical note applies to:
- Zetafax 7.00.0.26 Exchange connector
Symptom
Over a period of time the Microsoft Exchange Information Store (STORE.EXE) consumes larger amounts of system memory, than would be consistent with the volume of Exchange traffic being generated. This situation is known to occur if the Zetafax 7.00.0.26 Exchange connector is installed and subject to a high volume of e-mail fax traffic.
Due to system resource limitations, this may also cause STORE.EXE to stop.
Cause
Zetafax 7.00.0.26 Exchange connector introduced a feature, of being able to monitor the progress of faxes sent from Outlook in the "Zetafax Outbox". The additional overhead caused by this feature can cause STORE.EXE memory usage to grow beyond system capability.
Resolution
This issue is resolved by upgrading the Zetafax connector for Microsoft Exchange with version 7.1 update, available for download on the Equisys web site www.equisys.com/updates for Zetafax 7 users.
To upgrade to the latest version uninstall the current connector (Using Add/Remove Programs) and install the downloaded update.
Status
This behaviour was corrected in the above mentioned maintenance release.
