This Zetafax technical note applies to:
Summary
This document details issues in the Zetafax mail rendering engine (STM32.EXE) that have been addressed in this update.
These issues are resolved by applying the Zetafax mail gateway 7.1 update. This is available on the Equisys web site www.equisys.com/updates as a separate download for Zetafax 7 users.
Problems fixed in this release
This maintenance release addresses the following issues:
There is an access violation in STM32.EXE when the Zetafax server is shutdown during file conversion.
When STM32 is converting file attachment(s) and the Zetafax server is requested to shutdown or restart, STM32 does not shutdown the conversion capturing mechanism resulting in an invalid address to be accessed.
Unable to re-install the mail rendering subsystem (MRS) printer driver when the printer is deleted as a result attachments being rejected.
When an attachment that causes print errors is processed, the MRS printer is deleted but in some instances STM32 fails to re-install it.
The MRS printer driver print timeout duration is 20 minutes if mail attachments fail to render.
When attachments that require user response fail to render, STM32 tries repeatedly for 20 minutes to render the document causing Zetafax server to wait needlessly.
NOTE: This fix sets the default timeout to 1 minute. This may be extended if required by following the instructions below, although under normal circumstances should not need to be changed.
- Stop the Zetafax server service if it is running.
- Launch Windows Explorer and navigate to zfax\mail\data, where 'zfax' is the name of the directory where the Zetafax server files are installed.
- Open DRIVER.INI and add PrintTimeOut=x to the [GENERAL] section, where 'x' represents the number of minutes to wait before closing the rendering application (e.g. PrintTimeOut=2)
