HOWTO: Configuring Eicon Diva BRI port driver with Zetafax Print ZTN1043 ID: ZTN1043 This Zetafax technical note applies to: Zetafax 5.5 Summary Zetafax provides Class 1 support for the Eicon Diva Server BRI-2M PCI modem using the Eicon port driver service. To configure the Diva server BRI fax card with Zetafax follow the instructions below. Zetafax 6.01 introduced CAPI support for active ISDN controllers. This provides an alternative configuration route for the Diva Server BRI modem. More information Ensure that you have added the Eicon port driver service during the Eicon setup. Launch Control panel and open the Ports applet, confirm that Com 5,6 and the DiPorts have been added successfully during setup. (If Com 5 and 6 do not appear you will have to add the Eicon port driver service from the Eicon setup program). Configure the modem using the Zetafax configuration program, selecting 'Zyxel U-1496E Fax Modem' from the list of devices for both Com ports (5 and 6) Click on the 'More...' button, and ensure the Use Class 1 in the Fax protocol section is unchecked (ie: Use Class 2). Complete the other settings in the dialog as required Close the Configuration program. Edit the Zetafax configuration file zfax\SYSTEM\Z-DB\SETUP.INI using Notepad or similar text editor, where 'zfax' is the name of the directory where the Zetafax server files are installed. Find the device's paragraph (e.g. [FCLASS-1]), and edit the CheckInit1: line to read: CheckInit1: +is2/1 This parameter sets the service indicator, which tells the remote site the kind of connection you wish to establish. Restart the Zetafax server References For additional information on modems, please see the following Zetafax technical notes: ZTN1029-INFO: Fax devices supported by Zetafax.
