HOWTO: How to install Zetadocs PDF using Group Policy Print ZTN3500 ID: ZTN3500 This Zetadocs technical note applies to: Zetadocs PDF Version 1.0 and above Summary This document details the process to install Zetadocs PDF using Group Policy in a Windows Server Active Directory (AD) domain. More information To roll out Zetadocs PDF into your AD, follow these steps: Logon to a Domain controller on your network as a user with Domain administrator rights. From the command line, run ‘setup.exe /a’. This will launch the Zetadocs PDF installation program in extract mode. Proceed through the installation, specifying a shared folder (named Zetadocs PDF) to drop the extracted installation components for later use. For Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2003 R2 and 2008, perform the following steps: Start “Active Directory Users and Computers”. Right click domain, and select properties then click on the Group Policy tab. Select “default domain policy” and click “edit”. Browse to Computer configuration/Administrative templates/windows components/ windows installer. Double click " Always install with elevated privileges" and set it to enabled. Browse to User configuration/Administrative templates/windows components/ windows installer. Double click " Always install with elevated privileges" and set it to enabled. Browse to Computer configuration/Software Settings/Software installations. nbsp; Click on Action menu, choose New> Package... Browse to the Zetadocs PDF.msi file in the Zetadocs PDF folder you shared in 2 above, and then click OK. NOTE: you must browse to it as a valid network path that can be resolved by all client systems e.g. \\< ComputerName> \< Share> . Select Assigned then Click OK. Close the policy. For Windows Server 2008 R2, perform the following steps: Start “Group Policy Management. Browse to the domain, right click on “Default Domain Policy” and click edit. The “Group Policy Management Editor” will be launched. Browse to Computer Configuration/Policies/Software Settings/Software Installation. Right click on “Software Installation” and create a new package. Browse to the Zetadocs PDF.msi file in the Zetadocs PDF folder you shared in item 2 above, and then click OK. NOTE: you must browse to it as a valid network path that can be resolved by all client systems e.g. \\< ComputerName> \< Share> .Zetadocs PDF will be installed once the policy has propagated and the client system has been rebooted. Select Assigned and click OK. Close the policy. The Zetadocs PDF Client will be installed on the clients associated with this policy when machines are next restarted once the policy is propagated throughout the domain.
