HOWTO: Install the Zetafax Outlook extensions using group policy Print ZTN1337 ID: ZTN1337 This Zetafax technical note applies to: Zetafax client Version 9 and 10 Summary This technical note details the process to install the Zetafax Outlook Extensions using group policy in a Windows 2000/2003 active directory domain. More information Note: this technical note assumes the following: Zetafax server has been installed and configured on a machine within your network. The Zetafax server folder has been shared out using the Share wizard in Zetafax server configuration. The Zetafax Outlook extension installation has been copied off the Product CD and share out within your network. To role out the Zetafax Outlook Extensions into your AD domain follow these steps. Start up "Active Directory Users and Computers" on a system within your network (this is normal found on a Domain controller system and you need to login with Domain administrator privileges). Right click domain, and select properties then click on the Group Policy tab. Select "default domain policy" and click "edit". Browse to Computer configuration/Administrative templates/windows components/ windows installer Double click " Always install with elevated privileges" and set it to enabled. Browse to User configuration/Administrative templates/windows components/ windows installer Double click " Always install with elevated privileges" and set it to enabled. Browse to Computer configuration/Software Settings/Software installations. Click on Action, New, Package... Browse to the Zetafax Outlook Extension.MSI file then click ok (NOTE: you must browse to it as a valid network path that can be resolved by all client Systems.) Select assigned then Click OK. Right click the Zetafax Outlook Extension you have just created and select properties. Click on the deployment tab and verify that the " install this application at logon is checked.
