HOWTO: Install Zetafax Client Applications in a Terminal Services environment Print ZTN1688 ID: ZTN1688 This Zetafax technical note applies to: Zetafax 2008 to Zetafax 2012 Platform Feature Pack Summary This technical note describes how to install the Zetafax Client Application on a Terminal Server so that the Zetafax Client and Office 2007 addins are available to all users. More information In Zetafax v2008 and later, the following components of the Zetafax Client Applications can be used in a Terminal Services environment: Zetafax Client (inc. Zetafax Printer) Outlook 2007 Extensions Outlook 2010 Extensions Word 2007 addin Excel 2007 addin To install the Zetafax Client Applications on a Terminal Server, please do the following: Note: The installation must be done on the terminal server console and not through a session. Additional Windows Server 2012 Terminal Server Steps Systems using a Windows Server 2012 Terminal Server need to perform these additional steps before completing the steps below: Go to Server Manager in Windows Server 2012. Click on Add Roles and features. The Add Roles and Features Wizard is displayed. Click on the "Features" option in the "Select features" section and check the ".Net Framework 3.5 Features" and click "Install". You can now proceed with the setup steps below. All Systems Log onto the Terminal Server machine locally as an Administrator. Bring up a command prompt. Type the following: change user /install This puts the Terminal Server into install mode. Still at the command prompt, change to the folder that contains wksetup.exe and _zfclientrun.exe. Type the following: cd prerequisites vcredist_x86.exe (or vcredist_x64 if you are on a 64-bit machine) When the install of the pre-requisites has completed, type the following: cd.. _zfclientrun.exe /V" ALLUSERS=1 /L*v %TEMP%\ZFClientInstall.log" This runs the Zetafax Client Applications installer for all users. If you select the Custom install option, you should see the Zetafax Client, Outlook Integration and Office Addins as available features. There should be no other components visible.
