INFO: What is new in Zetafax 2009 Print ZTN1724 ID: ZTN1724 This Zetafax technical note applies to: Zetafax 2009 Summary Zetafax 2009 is now available, and is released to customers via the download service and on CD. This technical note provides a brief description of what has changed in Zetafax since version 2008, and how to update your system to the latest version. More information Zetafax 2009 provides a number of new features and resolves a large number of issues that have been reported in previous versions. New features include: Support for running the Zetafax Server under VMWare ESX and ESXi Fax over IP Connector (including Brooktrout SR140) Wider platform support for Brooktrout boards (using Brooktrout SDK 6.0, including support for Windows Server 2008) Support for Citrix XenApp6 Improved support for higher volume systems (with large numbers of fax lines) Simplified client update feature Improved protection for SalesLogix users (for use with Zetadocs for SalesLogix, currently available in North America only) The major problems resolved in this release include: Zetafax Client fails to install on some x64 and x86 machines. Brooktrout devices intermittently fail to pick up an incoming call. When installing Zetafax Server on an Exchange Server, the installer incorrectly identifies that MAPI needs to be installed. Systems with large numbers of devices are timing out because initialisation is taking too long. Dialogic (Eicon) BRI boards are failing some faxes immediately during a faxshot with the error " The remote station called does not support the transfer mode" . Under some circumstances, sending a fax from either Outlook 2003 or 2007 causes the message to be redirected to the " badmail" folder, meaning that the fax message is not processed. On Windows Vista, the Zetafax Client fails to prompt the user when an updated client is available. The aborting of faxes does not work for Dialogic (Eicon) Diva fax boards and other CAPI devices. G3N (draft quality) faxes are always received as G3F (normal quality) faxes with Brooktrout TRxStream devices. In a failover configuration, the backup server fails to start with the error " Initialisation taken too long - aborting" Email gateway message processing intermittently uses excessive CPU. Dialogic (Eicon) Diva fax boards and other CAPI devices intermittently identify that a message timed out when it was sent correctly. SR140 device configuration wizard sometimes fails to save the Channels Used setting. Clicking 'New' or 'Open' in the Coversheet Editor results in an error. On 64-bit systems, the Zetafax Client cannot be installed if the server installation uses a 'split' (failover) file system Incoming calls rejected intermittently with SR140 if some channels were configured for “send only” Click here for instructions on how to update your system to Zetafax 2009.
