PRB: Dynamics NAV reports that you do not have the following permissions when using Zetadocs

This Zetadocs technical note applies to:

  • Zetadocs for NAV versions 6.0 and later, all editions
  • Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 and later

Symptom

When performing a Zetadocs for NAV action, Dynamics NAV reports “You do not have the following permissions on <TableName: TableAction>”. e.g. when sending a batch of documents NAV may report “You do not have the following permissions on TableData Zetadocs Send Result: Insert”.

Cause

The logged in NAV user is likely to have been assigned a NAV Limited User license type. NAV Limited Users have write access to a maximum of three application tables per user session, even when they have been assigned SUPER Permission Sets.

Zetadocs for NAV writes to multiple application tables during most operations which will quickly exceed the three the limited NAV license type allows.

Resolution

Edit the User Card for the NAV user reporting the issue and change License Type to Full User, then retry the Zetadocs action.

Status

This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
