PRB: Zetadocs Client fails to start after printing Print ZTN3558 ID: ZTN3558 This Zetadocs technical note applies to: Zetadocs Client version 4.01 Symptom After printing to the Zetadocs PDF printer, the Zetadocs Client application fails to start or if it is already running, fails to update with the document that has been printed. Additionally, the print progress dialog box may fail to display printing progress. This behaviour may be seen intermittently on slower PC’s or on VPC images with low memory. Cause This problem is caused by the application that monitors printing progress failing to capture events from the printer. Resolution To workaround this issue you need to change the Zetadocs PDF printer preferences as described below: Locate the Zetadocs PDF printer (Control Panel|Printers and Faxes) Right-click Zetadocs PDF printer and select Printing Preferences Click the Start Application tab Change the application to “C:\Program Files\Zetadocs PDF\ZdClient.exe” and choose the Start After Printing option. Click Apply button and then OK Repeat steps 3 and 4 under Printing Defaults: Right-click Zetadocs PDF Printer and select Printer Properties. Click on the Advanced tab and click “Printing Defaults”. To test the workaround, print from the application to the Zetadocs PDF printer, once the print file has been spooled the Zetadocs Client will start and display the print job. Status This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above. Last updated: 10/11/2009 (DH/PS/MW)
