PRB: Zetafax Server EPSTIFF incorrectly renders postscript submit files as plain text

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

• Zetafax 2011.

Symptom

With the Zetafax Server setup to use the automatic submission program (Z-SUBMIT), the EPSTIFF module does not always render all the postscript submit files correctly. It sometimes renders the files as plain text whereas they should be rendered as TIFF documents.  

Cause

This was caused by a bug in EPSTIFF which was preventing the Zetafax Server from reading all the commands of the postscript submit files correctly.

Resolution

A hotfix is available to resolve this issue, please follow the steps below to install this hotfix on your Zetafax Server:

1. Contact Equisys technical support and request the hotfix quoting technote number ZTN1859.
2. Shut down the Zetafax Server.
3. Browse to the following location, depending on the machine architecture:

            C:\Program Files\Zetafax Server\SERVER\

for 64 bit machines :

            C:\Program Files (x86)\Zetafax Server\SERVER\



4. Rename the file EPSTIFF.EXE to EPSTIFF_backup.exe.
5. Paste in this directory the file named EPSTIFF.EXE from the hotfix folder.
6. Restart the Zetafax Server.
   
   
   

This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
